Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick átkapcsolása NVidia-ról nyílt forrású Nouveau driverre

You might want to try the new, open source 2D and 3D drivers, if you have used the closed source NVidia drivers before upgrading.
It is simple, but far from trivial to switch to the open source Noveau drivers in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat:

Ha ki akarod próbálni a nyílt forrású új grafikus drivert az új 10.10-es Ubuntuban a régi NVidia driver helyett, akkor egy egyszerű, de nem nyilvánvaló lépéssort kell végrehajtanod:

1. select System / Administration / Additional Drivers on the panel.
2. Click on the active "NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver" (the one with the green light on its left)
3. Click Remove button.
4. Reboot.
5. You should see a different, nicer boot screen, and be able to configure multiple monitors and scren resolution with the native gnome /ubuntu tools.

To enable 3D accereration run this command:

sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental

Turn off 3D acceleration in VirtualBox, as it seems to freeze with this (works with the NVidia drivers though).

1. Válaszd a panelen a Rendszer / Adminisztráció / További driverek pontot.
2. Válaszd ki az aktív drivert (amelyik mellett zöld pötty van).
3. Nyomd meg az eltávolítás (vagy kikapcsolás) gombot.
4. Indítsd újra a gépet.
5. Már egy új szebb, az Ubuntu és a Gnome saját eszközeivel konfigurálható grafikus felületet kell kapnod.

A 3D gyorsítás működéséhez még az alábbi parancsot kell kell kiadnod:
sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental
Ebben az esetben ki kell kapcsolni a VirtualBoxban a 3D gyorsítást, mert ezzel a driverrel lefagy (az NVidiával működik).
